Low-Carbon Methanol

Low-Carbon Methanol for the Maritime Industry

Our world-scale methanol facility is engineered to provide the shipping industry with a reliable supply of low-carbon and biomethanol to meet global decarbonization targets.

Low-Carbon Methanol

Production Volume

The facility will produce 1.9 million metric tons per year of IMPCA grade methanol.

Low-Carbon Methanol

Strategic Location

Located on the Texas Gulf Coast, the project has premier access to deepwater ports for global export, alongside robust rail and pipeline infrastructure for efficient distribution.

Low-Carbon Methanol

Proven Technology

We are eliminating technology and scale-up risk by utilizing Topsoe’s SynCOR Methanol™ technology, a commercially proven catalytic process with five facilities of similar or larger scale currently in operation worldwide.

Low-Carbon Methanol

Secured Feedstock

100% of the facility's required renewable and traditional natural gas feedstock is secured through a long-term, fixed-price agreement with a highly creditworthy EU trading group, providing absolute cost certainty.

Our flagship facility will produce approximately 5,200 metric tons per day of methanol using Topsoe's SynCOR™ technology. SynCOR™ is the most energy efficient technology because it requires 10% less natural gas for feed + fuel per metric ton of methanol produced compared to competing methanol production technologies. This efficiency advantage results in less CO2 emissions. Operation at very low steam to carbon ratio for SynCOR™ lowers CapEx and OpEx.
